Wade Reynolds (June 5, 1929 – October 3, 2011) was a self-taught American realist painter, renowned for his figurative works often associated with the California School of Light. Born in Jasper, New York, Reynolds displayed artistic talent from an early age. After serving in the U.S. Navy, where he studied electronics and painted a mural at the Enlisted Men’s Club on Guam, he embarked on a professional art career in New York City in 1958.

In 1959, Reynolds relocated to California, residing in Newport Beach, Oceanside, and San Francisco, and painting extensively in the Los Angeles area. His work was showcased in museums and galleries across San Francisco, Santa Barbara, New York, Newport Beach, and Santa Fe, New Mexico. Notably, he was commissioned to paint the official state portrait of California Governor George Deukmejian and created portraits of costume designer Noel Taylor and actress Agnes Moorehead.
